The following case study outlines the process that was undertaken in Colaiste Ghobnatan, Baile Bhuirne for the replacement of windows and external doors in the existing secondary school.
Introduction:
The project included the removal of 20 no. existing single glazed teak windows type WT-01 and doors and replace with new white polyester powder coated thermally broken (BS6496) aluminium framed double glazed windows (TS46), doors and screens to BS4873 standards, all with in glazed vents.
Scope of Works:
Bantry Bespoke Joinery firstly had to remove the existing WT-01 windows very carefully as these were to be handed over to the client. All other windows and doors were then removed and disposed of in a suitable waste management facility. We manufactured and fabricated the new windows and doors in our own workshop, supplied, delivered and fixed into position. All door sets were required to be Brown aluminium framed double glazed units with thermal break with low ‘e’ glass with argon. Insulated aluminium panel brown to match frames.
Installation:
To complete this project to the highest standard, all opes both internally and externally were made good and we decorated all internal reveals, heads and window boards.
